Why we exist
The problem
In today's economy, much of a company's value lies not in plant and equipment but in intangible assets. Patents are the clearest legal form of that value — yet also the hardest to understand and the least liquid item on the balance sheet.
Our response
TIS exists to change this. We turn patents from static legal documents into assets that can be measured, traded, and invested — and we set out to build the standard by which their value is fairly judged.
The rating engine
It begins with making "what is a patent worth?" a credible question to answer. With our shareholder Innovue, we developed a patent-strength rating engine that scores every patent from S to D across fifty indicators. Our goal is for it to become the market's recognized benchmark for patent quality.
The cornerstone
Patents are often a company's largest yet most undervalued asset. When their value can be measured consistently, they can be trusted, traded, and invested. This is the cornerstone of everything TIS does.
